Police resolve blind murder mystery

ISLAMABAD    -   The Homicide Investigation Unit (HIU) of Noon Police Station has solved mys­tery of a blind murder case by arresting the suspected killer, informed a police spokesman on Saturday.

According to him, officials of PS Noon found a dead body of an unknown man on 3/9/2022 and registered a case against an unidentified killer.

Following this incident, IGP Islama­bad Dr Akbar Nasir Khan directed DIG (Operations) Sohail Zafar Chatha to ensure the arrest of the killer. A spe­cial police team was constituted and headed by SSP (Investigation). The po­lice team worked hard, investigated the case by using modern investiga­tion techniques and succeeded in ar­resting the culprit, the deceased’s real son, who was identified as Bilal Khan, while further investigation is under­way. DIG (Operations) has appreciated the performance of the police team and further directed all zonal officers to in­tensify the ongoing crackdown against criminals and bring them to justice.

On the other hand, police also appre­hended 13 criminals including six drug peddlers involved in criminal activities and recovered drug and weapons with ammunition from their possession, a police public relations officer said.

He said that DIG Operations Sohail Zafar Chatha had ordered all zonal of­ficers to curb the crime in their respec­tive areas and arrest those involved in looting innocent people.

Following these directives, Kohsar police team arrested an accused name­ly Shahzad and recovered 565 gram heroin from his possession. Tarnol police team arrested a drug peddler namely Zubair and recovered 1,130 gram heroin from his possession. 

Similarly, Sangjani police team ar­rested two accused namely Muham­mad Waris and Muhammad Hasnat and recovered two 30 bore pistols from their possession. Shams Colony police arrested an accused Sulman and recov­ered one 30 bore pistol from his pos­session. 

Moreover, Khanna police arrested the accused namely Arslan and recov­ered one 9mm pistol along with ammu­nition from his possession. 

Cases have been registered against the nabbed accused and further inves­tigation is underway. During a special crackdown against proclaimed offend­ers and court absconders, police teams arrested seven accused from different areas of a city. DIG Operations Sohail Zafar Chatha said that the safety of the lives and property of the citizens is our prime responsibility and no laxity will be tolerated in this regard
