ISLAMABAD - Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb later clarified that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will bear the expenditure of his upcoming visit to Saudi Arabia instead of burdening the national exchequer.
In a series of tweets on Monday, she said that the Prime Minister is going to Saudi Arabia on a commercial flight. Referring to PTI leader Chaudhry Fawad Hussain's tweet, Marriyum Aurangzeb said the former minister should know that neither Shehbaz Sharif is carrying a chartered plane nor any journalist will go with him on government expenditure.
She said Imran Khan and his cronies were known for banning channels and programmes during their days in power. She said now, after their expulsion from power, they have unleashed baseless allegations.
Marriyum Aurangzeb lashed out at Fawad Chaudhry saying that he should be ashamed of himself for levelling such sordid allegations on journalists.
Responding to Fawad's tweet, Marriyum said being a former Information Minister, Fawad should be ashamed of accusing journalists of traveling on state expenditure when he knew it was not true. But Fawad could not resist because fake news and false propaganda was his signature characteristic which he took great pride in.

Marriyum also said that Shehbaz Sharif as Punjab Chief Minister had travelled abroad on his personal expenditure for 10 years. However, all these facts were irrelevant to PTI because they live in a world of pathological blatant liars who had nothing to do with the truth.
The Information Ministry said Imran owed his entire political career to the Pakistani News media, but when he came into power he paid them back with curbs, censorship, harassment, threats, abductions, assaults, and assassination attempts. And now that Imran was out of power and couldn't get them shot like he did when he was in power, Imran was not targeting them with false accusations. Those who usurped the nation's sugar, flour, medicines, electricity, gas, electricity, LNG and petrol were losing their sleep over journalists being honored by Shehbaz Sharif.
She told Fawad to write a tweet about the watches and rings of Toshakhana too but added that it was impossible because it required a living conscience which Fawad did not have. She told Fawad to keep his sermons on austerity to himself especially after causing the biggest fiscal debt in the history of the country. Marriyum said those who tried to fool the nation with ridiculous fiasco of selling cows, eggs and chicken should shut up with their lies now.
