ISLAMABAD (APP) Outstanding contributors of different fields gathered in Federal Capital on Saturday to attend the colourful 'XXth Star Awards Ceremony and Annual Dinner 2009 and mark the 134th birth anniversary of great Founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah. The students, educationists as well other participants during 'Quaid-e-Azam Session paid glowing tributes to the struggle of the Quaid for acquiring a separate homeland for the Muslims where they can exercise their rights. Students from different cities shared their ideas and renewed pledge to build and rebuild Pakistan, putting it on the path of progress and prosperity. Star Awards aimed at highlighting the achievements of outstanding male and female populations of the country. , giving them the respect and recognition they deserve and galvanizing them as potential human force in the mainstream of the development process. The long-term plan of Star Awards is to establish a separate Foundation or Trust under the president-ship of Professor Dr. Asadullah Kazi, Chancellor of Isra University, Hyderabad, he said. Renowned Singer Dr. Amjad Parvez amused the audience with his patriotic songs. Vice Chancellors of various universities, students, artists from across the country attended the daylong event.
