Zardari not returning on BB’s death anniversary: Rehman Malik

KARACHI: Senator Rehman Malik Saturday confirmed that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairman would not return home on eighth death anniversary of former premier Benazir Bhutto due to health problems.

Talking to a private television channel, Malik said that Zardari, widower of Benazir Bhutto, would return to Pakistan only after complete recovery from his illness.

The PPP leader said that Zardari was so ill that he even offered Umrah on wheel-chair.

He said Zardari is suffering from several diseases including diabetes, adding that the PPP co-chairman is facing problems even to stand on his feet.

Benazir was assassinated on December 27, 2007 at Liaquat National Bagh in Rawalpindi while campaigning ahead of general elections scheduled for 2008.
