KASUR - Four police officials were booked allegedly for extorting money from bus drivers at a picket here the other day.
According to police, DPO Zulfiqar Ahmed was complained about the cops that they had been involved in extorting money from bus drivers at a picket in Chah Klanwala in Phoolnagar Saddr police precincts. The DPO ordered inquiry into the crime. The inquiry officer, DSP Pattoki Saleem Niazi, found the cops guilty of the misconduct and submitted report to the DPO. Resultantly, the cops were booked on the DPO orders. They were identified as Assistant Sub Inspector Khalid Mehmood, Constables - Ejaz Mehmood, Ali Ahmed and Anwar. "Corrupt officials in the police department do not deserve leniency and they will be dealt with sternly," the DPO said.
HOUSE LOOTED
Unidentified thieves took away cash and gold jewellery from a house at Hanjran Kalan here the other day.
According to Sarai Mughal police, Arshad, the house owner, was out with his family when unidentified thieves came. They broke into the house and made off with Rs300,000 cash and 2.5 tola gold jewellery. Police registered a case and launched investigation.
