KARACHI- While attending a ceremony at PAF Base Masroor today, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that Pakistan wanted peace in the region.

Sindh Governor and Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt also attended the Karakoram Eagle ceremony. Karakorum Eagle AWACS can detect aerial as well as sea surface targets regardless of their height. It maintains link with ground command to provide comprehensive air picture.

Sharif said that Pakistan always encouraged talks for resolution of disputes. Sharif praised Pakistan Air Force for its repute with acts of heroism, sacrifices and professionalism.

PAF made its niche among the comity of finest air forces of the world, he added. He said the government will purge the country of militancy with the help of armed forces.
