PTI moves IHC against PML-N vote change

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) Wednesday moved the Islamabad High Court (IHC) challenging the nominations of two Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) candidates from the federal capital for upcoming Senate elections.
PTI Secretary Information Dr. Shireen Mazari filed the petition before the IHC and challenged the nomination of Iqbal Zafar Jhagra and Raheela Magsi as candidates for Senate elections from Islamabad on the ticket of ruling PML-N. The Registrar office of IHC has raised objections that the petitioner has not attached the relevant documents pertaining to the approval of nomination papers of the said candidates. A Division Bench (DB) of IHC comprising Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Aamer Farooq would hear this case as objection case here today. In her petition, Mazari nominated federation, chief election commissioner, Iqbal Zafar Jhagra and Raheela Magsi as respondents. She contended that neither the two said candidates were Islamabad citizens nor they were registered as voters of Islamabad and hence they could not contest Senate elections from Islamabad.  Therefore, the petitioner prayed to the court to issue directions for the rejection of nomination papers of these two candidates from Islamabad.
