KHANEWAL - Deputy Commissioner Salman Khan Lodhi paid a surprise visit to Darulaman Khanewal and inspected the facilities and security for the women residing there. He inspected adult education center, handicraft school and dispensary. Cleaning of kitchens and washrooms was also checked. The Deputy Commissioner inquired from the resident women about the facilities and the attitude of the staff. Deputy Director Social Welfare Muhammad Naeem and in-charge Darulaman Fauzia Barkat were also present on the occasion. Deputy commissioner appreciated performance of Fauzia Barkat. DC said that Chief Minister Usman Bazdar has approved Rs. 10 million for renovation of Darulaman. The electrical system here will be made functional by next week by shifting to solar. He said that provision of best facilities to women should be ensured by Punjab government. Homeless women will not be left alone under any circumstances. On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner also distributed gifts among the women and planted trees in the lawn.
