RAWALPINDI - Car lifters stole two vehicles on Monday from the jurisdictions of Police Stations (PSs) New Town and Westridge. Police on the complaints of the vehicles owners had registered cases against the unidentified muggers and started investigation. According to details, one Muhammad Hafeez lodged a complaint with PS New Town and stated that some unknown vehicle lifters had taken his Corolla XLI (ME-949) away from Pindora. While Muhammad Akram told PS Westridge officials that car jackers had lifted his his Mehran Car bearing registration IDK-3629 from Qasim Abad. Taking action on the complaints of the owners of lost vehicles, police registered twos separate cases against the robbers and started investigation. Meanwhile, the International Islamic University (IIU) on Monday held the oath taking ceremony of the office bearers of the Officers Welfare Association (OWA) of the university. Earlier annual elections of the office bearers of the Officers Welfare Association (OWA) of the International Islamic University were held. The election committee comprising Ch. Muhammad Hussain, Deputy Director ICTE/Chairman Syed Nazir Hussain Shah, Deputy Director P-IV /Member Humaira Islam Asst. Director Finance /Member announced that the following candidates were declared elected un-opposed. Shafiq-ur-Rehman, Dy. Director (President), Muhammad Jamil, Dy Director (Vice-President), S. Manzoor Hussain Shah, Asst Director (General Secretary), Ishtiaq Ahmad, Asst. Director (Secretary Finance), Mrs. Nargis Jamal, Librarian (Joint Secretary), Sajjad Siddique Secretary Sports and Culture and Shahid Mahmood Press Secretary. Following officers were elected as members of the Executive Body: Muhammad Rafi Principal Librarian, Mrs. Zubaida Khatoon Dy. Director, Hafiz Bashir Ahmad, Dy. Director, Muzammil Hussain Shah, Dy. Director and Nasir Farid Asst. Director. On the occasion, Dr. Anwar Hussain Siddiqui, President, IIU said the university is fully aware of the problems faced by its empolyees, officers and the teachers and it will made optimum efforts in this regard. He appealed the university staff officers and the students to contribute for the mosque.
