MMA To raise People’s living standards: JI

LAHORE: Secretary General of Jamaat e Islami Liaqat Baloch, who is also Secretary General of the MMA, has said that the MMA would raise living standards of lower sections of the society, including government servants, industrial workers and farmers after coming into power. Addressing corner meetings in his constituency, NA 130, he said that the wages of the factory workers would be fixed in the light of the price level and the industrial and farm workers would be made stakeholders in the industrial and farm production.

He said that the country’s economy was primarily linked to agriculture but the feudal lords, vaderas and capitalists who had been wielding power, had been exploiting the farmers and had made the life of the farm workers and Haris miserable.

He said, the MMA would provide subsidy on electricity supplied to the agriculturists and agricultural inputs so that agriculture was made profitable. He pointed out that the JI and its Kisan Board Pakistan had always raised their voices for the farmers’ rights.  He said that the MMA government would also provide legal and economic protection to  industrial workers and their pensions under Old Age Benefit net work would be increased in proportion to the price level. –NNI
