Students seek Punjab-like laptop scheme in KP

PESHAWAR - Terming the  Shahbaz Sharif’s laptop scheme in Punjab a revolutionary step towards promotion of computer literacy, students across KP have demanded of the CM Ameer Haider Khan Hoti to follow in the footsteps of Mian Shahbaz Sharif and announce laptop scheme for the poor students of his province.
Talking to TheNation, Arshad Saeed, student of University of Peshawar, said that the laptop scheme for one lakh students of Punjab showed that Punjab government was sincere with their people and the step taken by them for promotion of computer literacy was highly appreciable. He said the CM Punjab was a role model for the KP CM. He said the KP CM should also follow in the footsteps of the Punjab CM. He added that modern age was the age of computer and information technology. He expressed a hope that KP CM would not disappoint the students of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and would announce the laptop scheme for the bright future of the Pukhtoon students.
Another student of Business Administration Mushataq Hussain told this scribe that the step taken by Punjab CM impressed the students of Khyber Pakhtunkhawa. He said no one could deny the fact that computer had a great importance in this competitive environment. He said the KP CM already contributed to promotion of education, yet students are waiting for the revolutionary announcement that the Punjab CM had made.
Inam-ur-Rahman, a law student, said without a honest leadership this province would be considered an orphan, however they hoped that in the upcoming years leaders like Ameer Haider Khan Hoti would change the destiny of this province. He said that if Punjab government could announce one lakh laptops for students then KP CM should also announce such a gift for the poor and talented students of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He said one of the master class student was working on daily wages inside Peshawar University hostels.
