PESHAWAR - Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Prisons, Humayun Khan, has announced that the long-delayed construction projects of the Laram Top and Shorshing–Jakhar Baba roads have officially been tendered.
These roads, he said, will now be constructed with the support of the Asian Development Bank, adhering to international standards.
The initiative aims to complete all development projects of public interest. Under this scheme, a total of 48 kilometers of roads will be constructed in Lower Dir, including 20 kilometers in Tehsil Adenzai.
The 12.7-kilometer Laram Top Road is estimated to cost Rs700 million, while the Shorshing–Jakhar Baba Road will require Rs520 million. The last date for submission of tender documents is set for June 23, after which the scrutiny process will be completed and construction will officially begin.
These infrastructure projects are expected to significantly improve land connectivity in the region and positively impact local economic activity, employment, education, and healthcare.
Enhanced travel facilities, increased commercial activity, and growth in tourism are also anticipated outcomes of this development.
