KARACHI - Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan Ameer Engr Hafiz Naeemur Rahman has urged the youth of the country to use social media not only to highlight the evil but also for a positive social change in the society. The JI supreme leader expressed these views while addressing a social media meetup event entitled Connect Karachi held at Faran Club. JI Women Wing organised the event. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the JI had been engaged in the movement for a peaceful Islamic revolution in the country.
In this process, he said, the JI approached all segments of the society. He further said that the elements of positive change in the society should use all the available resources in order to propagate their message.
He further said that the social media should be used to unite the nation against the apartheid imposed by feudal mindset in the ruling class. The centuries old practice of divide and rule was still being applied to rule the masses, he said. The JI leader stressed the need to empower the youth and safeguard the rights of women, particularly the working women. He added that hundreds of thousands of women are part of the workforce in the country, besides a large number of home based women workers but none of them have security of their rights.
JI Digital Media Director Salman Sheikh, Asad Aijaz and others also addressed the event. JI Women Wing leaders, including Samina Saeed, Javedan Fahim, and others also addressed.
