China to invest $1.5b for Pak-China Science Park in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Science & Technology is visiting his Chinese counterpart in Urumqi, China for signing an MoU.

The Pakistan Ministry of Science & Technology and its counterpart in China has signed an MoU during Rana Tanvir Hussain, Federal Minister
of Science & Technology visit to China. According to the MoU, China is ready to invest 1.5 Billion US dollars in Islamabad, Pakistan for
Science Park.

The Minister for Science & Technology has invited the Chinese friends to visit Islamabad in December and select the location for
constructing the Science Park. Rana Tanvir also showed his interest in initiating the construction of the Park by March 2016.

Rana Tanvir Hussain, Federal Minister for Science & Technology showed his utmost gratitude at this huge investment from the Chinese friends.
He appreciated the interest of China in development of Pakistan.

He said, “China and Pakistan has a lot to share with each other in terms of technology, expertise and business. We are looking forward to
strengthen our mutual ties on economic as well as technological fronts. The Science Park in Islamabad will prove to be a linking and
strengthening project of the CPEC. It will bring prosperity to peoples of both the countries, as the premiers of the two countries avowed while signing the CPEC MoU in July 2013 in China.”
