Bahawalpur - A one-day Children’s Festival was organized at Government Girls Junior Model High School Bahawalpur under the auspices of District Education Authority Bahawalpur and Education and Awareness. Education South Punjab Dr. Ehtesham Anwar Mehar, Deputy Commissioner Irfan Ali Kathia, CEO Education and Awareness Bella Raza Jamil, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Leader Sameera Malik, Shehla Ehsan, Azra Sheikh, CEO Education Zahoor Ahmad Chauhan, Chairman Social Work  Islamia University of Bahawalpur Dr. Asif Naveed Ranjha, Prof. Mansoor Ali, Director School Yasmeen Rana, Fauzia Ayub Qureshi, District Program Manager Education and Awareness Zubaida Hassan, teachers and students in large numbers attended. Secretary School Education South Punjab Dr. Ehtesham Anwar Mahar while expressing his views said that the celebration of children’s literature is a wonderful initiative to attract children towards reading books. 


He said that such activities enhance the abilities of children. He said that full attention was being paid to the education of students in schools as well as their personality and character building.  

He said that School Olympics was organized under School Education South Punjab in which students of South Punjab schools fully participated and Bahawalpur district was declared the champion.  

He said that in order to promote the game of hockey, attention is being paid to the game of hockey at school level and in this regard, school hockey league has been started.  Secretary School Education South Punjab appreciated the efforts of the organizers in organizing the Children’s Literary Festival.  Expressing his views, Deputy Commissioner Irfan Ali Kathia said that the role of District Education Authority and Education and Awareness Institute in inculcating interest in reading books was commendable.  He said that reading a book enhances knowledge. He said that in the children’s literary festival, the organizers have highlighted the importance and usefulness of reading a book in a very beautiful way.  

He appreciated the efforts of the District Education Authority and the Institute of Education and Awareness on the excellent initiative of the students in curricular and co-curricular activities.  

Bella Raza Jamil, Chief Executive Officer, Institute of Education and Awareness, highlighted the importance of reading books among students. He said that efforts are being made to connect the children with the book and the children’s literary festival is a link in this chain.  Are  

On the occasion, Chief Executive Officer Education Zahoor Ahmad Chauhan welcomed the participants of the Children’s Literary Festival.  He said that such activities would create interest in reading books among the students.  Earlier, programs were presented to make children interested in reading books.  Various interesting stories were told to increase the interest in reading children’s books.  On this occasion, the Institute of Education and Awareness exhibited books for children and various cultural programs were presented.
