PESHAWAR - Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) Vice President, Ajmal Wazir has said that merger of Fata in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is not acceptable to the tribal people at any cost.
He said the proposed plan would strongly be opposed at every platform. Talking to media after attending a condolence reference after the demise of PML-Q Fata chapter president Shah Jehan held here at Peshawar Press Club, he said that Fata was already in a war-like situation and its merger in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would further deteriorate the overall situation in the country. “Fata has its own unique locality and rich resources but unfortunately we are deprived of development since the creation of the country. The Federal Government should uplift our tribal belt by utilising its resources and developmental reforms,” he added.
He asked all the political forces in the country to join hands in pulling tribesmen out of miseries.
To a query, Wazir said that if Imran Khan could lead its caravan to militancy-hit Waziristan for a peaceful cause, other parties should also take brave decision and come forward in protecting tribesmen from further massacre.
On the occasion, PML-Q, KPK General Secretary Intikhab Chamkani lauded the services of late Shah Jehan for political awareness in Fata, adding that party workers should learn from his political wisdom.
He said that tribal people were ready lay down their lives for the sake of their country. The condolence reference was largely attended by PML-Q workers across Fata.
