SADIQABAD - The PML-F Punjab secretary information has called on the district coordination officer at his office in Rahim Yar Khan and apprised him of the grave situation in the rural and urban areas regarding growth of mosquitoes in the wake of the recent rains.Rana Tariq Mehmood said that because of the mosquito bite, noxious diseases like dengue could break out in these areas particularly in constituency 296-PP. The politician appealed to the DCO to take immediate steps in order to conduct fumigation and to drain out water from the affected areas. For draining out the rainwater through nullahs, he demanded, the out-of-order tube wells should be repaired and made functional immediately. Mr Tariq remonstrated with the DCO against non-provision of food items and tants in the rain-affected areas of the constituency, thereby creating further harships for the survivors. He urged the DCO to resolve the victims’s grievances on priority basis. In response, the DCO assured him of taking immediate steps in this regard. After the meeting, Mr Tariq told the media that the DCO had orodered fumigation in the areas while assured him of taking measures regarding provision of edibles and tants in these areas. He further said that PML-F Punjab President Syed Mehmood had also been informed about the tube wells and the latter said that these tube wells would soon start functioning again.
