Shujaat fears a sadder state of affairs

GUJRAT
PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain expressed grave concern over the increase in electricity tariff and items’ prices, and expressed his fear that the next three months would bring more miseries for the masses regarding inflation.
Talking to media persons, the PML-Q president warned that due to the ongoing circumstances and the policies of the federal government, inflation seemed to rise further in the coming months.
Accompanied by MNA Pervaiz Elahi, Shujaat said that end of oppression, supporting the oppressed and serving the humanity was the mission of Ch Zahoor Elahi Shaheed. They were addressing a gathering on the death anniversary of the Zahoor Elahi in Gujrat.
He said, “Oppression whether it is from an individual, rulers or the government must be ended. We never supported any oppressor and injustice in the country or abroad. We always opposed oppression in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Owing to the increasing price hike of essential and other articles people would forget loadshedding of electricity and instead of paying the electricity bills they would prefer to have their connections disconnected.”
He said the difference between the present and the past governments was that the previous governemnt did not want to do anything positive whereas the present government cannot do anything. Pervaiz Elahi in his address said that the government had not been able to stop the US drone attacks but it should at least stop throwing drones of dearness on the people.
He said a comparison should be drawn between his tenure and the present government in the Punjab regarding price hike, crime, lawlessness, employment opportunities, progress and development. He added that prices of electricity, gas, flour, eatable items were increasing every day setting new records.
“Our tenure was of prosperity whereas today suicides have become order of the day. There has been a record increase in lawlessness, incidents of abduction for ransom and forcible extraction, life, honour, properties and houses of the people are not safe,” he said.
Both the PML-Q leaders expressed their heartfelt grief and sorrow over losses of precious lives in the Peshawar incident and in the earthquake in Balochistan and sympathized with the Christian. They said that PML-Q will extend all cooperation to compensate the victim families of the church blast and to provide relief for the earthquake affected population in Balochistan.
