Sialkot - Police claimed on Tuesday to have arrested five people for selling and flying kites in various parts of the district.  The police raided and recovered 35 kites from kite seller Khalid from Satrah, 40 kites from Mujahid of Bhudha Goraiya, 45 kites from Umair Ahmed of Chakri, 25 kites from Saqib of Shahabpura area and 10 kites from Muhammed Asif of Badiana area. Cases have been registered.

DC chairs DRTA meeting

A meeting of the District Regional Transport Authority (DRTA) was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Imran Qureshi on Tuesday.

Secretary DRTA Muzaffar Hayat, XEN Highway Nouman Ashraf, DSP Traffic Sabir Chatha and others attended the meeting.

On this occasion, DC Imran Qureshi issued orders for the renewal of license of 5D class bus-stand while notices were issued to nine bus-stands for not providing services as per SOPs. The deputy commissioner said licenses of those bus-stands which did not meet standards would be canceled.

Two held for pilfering electricity

Two persons were caught for allegedly pilfering electricity from main transmission lines and through meter tampering in two localities of the district.

On the report of Sub Division Officer (SDOs) GEPCO; Satrah and Kotwali police raided at Saranwali, Muhammad Pura and caught red handed Zulfiqar and Noor Muhammed while pilfering electricity from main transmission lines and through meter tampering. Cases have been registered against the accused.
