Imran links change with people empowerment

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan has said that real change will come only when people are empowered and they take their own decisions rather than following dictations.
He was addressing a public gathering at Bagh Dheri upper Swat where he inaugurated a Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Centre and launched Mobile Health Services and Lady Doctor Programme at Government High School Bagh Dheri on Monday. On the occasion, he was accompanied by KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, Senior Provincial Minister Sikander Hayat Sharpao, MNA Murad Saeed, MNA Saleemur Rehman and other party senior members.
The cricketer-turned-politician said that independent and proud nations made and took their decision themselves. He said that PTI-led government in the KPK province would introduce laws that would bring drastic changes in the government machinery. These laws will give more power to people,” the PTI chief said and added that only united and empowered people could change destiny of the country.
Expressing his views about LG system, Imran said that the PTI aimed to give local people the authority and control over resources, adding that decisions regarding any area should be taken by the elected leaders of that respective place rather than by “the distant leadership in Peshawar.” He pointed out that both the nation and country would progress for sure if by-elections were conducted in a transparent manner in the country.
The PTI chief cited the example of China, saying that 1,400 million people changed their own country in just 20 years by eliminating poverty. “This can be replicated in Pakistan as well if people living in rural areas are empowered,” Imran asserted.
Imran reiterated that the Tehreek-e-Insaf would implement the party manifesto in KPK and would bring revolution after by-elections. “The people will observe revolutionary changes in Khyber Pukhtunkhwa very soon as the government along with the bureaucracy will fill colours in the sketch envisaged by the PTI,” he elaborated, adding that the day was not far off when real change would take place in the KPK province.
