ISLAMABAD (APP) - Exports of fish and fish preparations from the country witnessed 11.45 percent increase during January as compared to exports of December last. Fish and fish preparations export during January 2010 were recorded at $18.363 million as against the exports of $16.476 million recorded during December 2009, according to data provided by Federal Bureau of Statistics. However, as compared to the exports of $18.818 million recorded during the same week of last year, fish exports during January witnessed decrease of 2.42 percent. The overall fish and fish preparations exports during the first seven months of this financial year witnessed negative growth of 10.01 percent as compared to the corresponding period of last year. The seafood exports during July-January (2009-10) were recorded at $116.150 million as against the exports of 129.074 recorded during July-January (2008-09), the figures revealed.
