Karachi- The first meeting of newly formed joint investigation team on Baldia Town factory fire was held. Additional Inspector General Crime Branch Khadim Hussain chaired the meeting.

The members of the team, Rangers Colonel Sajjad Bashir, FIA Additional Director Altaf Hussain and DIG Crime Branch Mushtaq Mahar participated in the meeting. According to police, ex-investigation officer (IO) of the case, Jahanzeb recorded his statement before the JIT.
The police further say, due to the importance of the matter the committee will meet on daily basis and will record statements of every person, who can provide further information.

The Sindh Home Department had formed an investigation team to further probe the Baldia factory fire that killed over 250 people in 2012. The team will probe the tragedy which recently made headlines in media after a JIT report was submitted in the Sindh High Court.
