In the contemporary world which claims to have tread millions of miles on the path of civilization, Pakistan has proved itself to be a real legatee and torchbearer of tolerance and peaceful co-existence through its practical conduct in the international arena even while dealing with insidious enemies.
A glaring example of this commitment to peaceful co-existence was evidenced this day (February 27) in the year 2019 when India dared penetrate into and violate Pakistan’s airspace, intoxicated with its self-assumed superiority over its neighbours.
It was just an extension of many other misadventures that the New Delhi government and its establishment have been planning and undertaking in order to achieve multiple objectives, nay wicked goals, a few of which can be enumerated, inter alia, as: (a) projecting itself as a superpower, if not of the world, then of the region (b) conveying to the neighbouring states a message ‘to behave’ (since India has always been trying to treat its neighbours as its satellites) (c) painting itself as a forerunner of regional and global peace and (d) trying to establish that Pakistan is a rogue country where extremist elements enjoy state patronage.
With the idea of achieving all or either of these objectives, Indian authorities have been working incessantly on machinations and schemes like false-flag operations and psy-war (psychological warfare) including hybrid, fifth-generation propaganda offensives directed against Pakistan, in particular.
For years and years together, India has been using its propaganda machinery recklessly to malign Pakistan side by side with presenting itself as one of the most civilized, tolerant and democratic countries of the world as if its socio-political spectrum were free from malice, infighting and extremism (lately proven otherwise, on ground).
These Indian propaganda offensives would be bombarded across the globe through the diplomatic corps and hegemony-loving media with such a great repetition and frequency that lies would be mostly perceived as truth in some parts of the world including the countries enjoying considerable clout in international relations. Take into consideration the merciless killing of India’s own soldiers from its hated low-caste (hated by superior-caste Indian Hindus) i.e. Dalits at a spot in control of Indian government known as Pulwama. Indian hegemony and its jingoistic, trigger-happy forces killed their own men in uniform to tell the outside world that India was a victim of naked aggression committed by Pakistan and its trained personnel who infiltrated into the India-supervised territory to carry out this Pulwama operation. Not a single piece of incriminating evidence India could produce at any dependable, global forum or platform to substantiate its anti-Pakistan allegations despite Islamabad’s repeated appeals to provide appropriate proofs in favour of Indian accusations, alleging Pakistan to have conducted the Pulwama attack.
But, as is usual with Indian authorities, they did not show remorse over their failure to provide such pieces of concrete evidence. A cursory study into the psyche of Indian leaders proves that they have not been feeling ashamed over such exposures, for decades. It is after the lapse of so many decades of exposures including the publication of EU Disinfo Lab report (the infamous Indian Chronicles)that India has paused a bit or decreased the frequency of its negative propaganda’s bombardment (not for a good cause, but obviously out of embarrassment).
Going back to February 27’s Indian misadventure when Indian Air Force’s Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman was downed by the valiant Pakistani forces after he violated Pakistani airspace in the backdrop of Indian authorities’ never-ending ill will against Pakistan, the world witnessed the clear-cut falsity of India’s self-proclaimed Balakot surgical strike. It was then claimed by India that Indian Air Force successfully accomplished ‘missions’ against Pakistani state-sponsored, anti-India terrorists hiding in their safe havens in Pakistani area of Balakot. No such mission was ever accomplished in reality, as is well known to the world at large. The electronic media of Pakistan rushed to the spot to find out that a crow had been killed, nothing else. The Pakistani media, which is globally acknowledged for its objective reporting without any bias for its own government, reported that no safe havens of terrorists existed in the area, as bragged by the ‘triumphant’ Indian government.
And when the foolhardy Indian Air Force, under pressure from its jingoistic Sarkar (government), tried to transgress, Pakistani Air Force came into swift action, making use of its moral, genuine right of self-defence. The result was that the plane of a senior flying officer of Indian Air Force, Wing Commander Abhinandan was downed and the Indian officer arrested.
Pakistan could use Abhinandan’s arrest as a propaganda tool and as a bargaining ploy, given India’s long history of anti-Pakistan venom and machinations, but Pakistan chose to play the role of a torchbearer of lasting peace, by deciding to return the arrested Indian pilot, Abhinandan, just after 60 hours, maintaining simultaneously its position of strength.
As such, Pakistan took the lead in taking graceful, decent peace initiatives instead of putting any kind of pressure on India or its supporters in some major capitals.
Islamabad’s peace initiative was, in fact, rooted in Pakistani people’s and government’s faith in Holy Prophet Muhammad’s (peace be upon him) message of peace and tolerance for which distinction the Holy Prophet (PBUH) is acclaimed and recognized throughout the globe as Rehmatulil Alaymeen (Mercy for the Humankind), for centuries. This act of large-heartedness, as demonstrated by Pakistan, also reinforced the country’s true image in the international fraternity which means that Pakistan is a peace-loving country that does not pay the cunning, aggressive and war-mongering adversaries in the same coin.
