ISLAMABAD - President Asif Ali Zardari turned 57 on Thursday. Born on July 26, 1955, in Karachi, the eleventh president is the widower of Benazir Bhutto, who served two non-consecutive terms as prime minister. A Baloch from a tribe based in Sindh, Zardari rose to prominence after his marriage to Bhutto in 1987. Between 1993 and 1996, he held various cabinet positions in the second Bhutto administration. The Pakistan People's Party workers in various cities celebrated the 57th birthday of the President by arranging different programmes on the occasion.
