KARACHI - Hong Kong cricket team which made its exit from the six-nation 9th Asia Cup came to the National Stadium on Thursday afternoon to watch sports arch-rivals Pakistan and India in action but returned to hotel disappointed when they were asked to sit in the open under hot sun. The team had requested the PCB official about their wish to watch Pakistan India match. They were advised to come to the stadium but were told to sit in the PCB gallery located on the second floor where non-VIP guests and their families are accommodated. When the team reached the PCB gallery they found out that it had no shade and they had to sit in open and heat. They preferred to leave the stadium and watch the action on TV in their hotel rooms. Hong Kong team, is no less VIP than most of the VIP who have been accommodated in the PCB Chairman's box where the guest are given cold drinks, tea and dinner. No PCB official was available to comment on the circumstances under which the Hong Kong team, had to leave for hotel. Pakistan is known for its hospitality. The BCCP and the PCB during the era of Nur Khan and Arif Ali Khan Abbasi had always treated visiting teams and official with dignity and respect. But during th last few years and particularly after the era of ad hocsim began some where in 1998 the PCB ad hoc committee paid less attention in providing hospitality to the visiting guests.
