KARACHI - Rear Admiral Bakhtiar Mohsin has been appointed as Commander Logistics of Pakistan Navy with immediate effect. This was announced in a press release of the ISPR (Navy) issued here on Thursday. It said that he took over the charge from Rear Admiral Muhammad Shafi in an impressive change of command ceremony held at PN Dockyard on Thursday.In capacity of Commander Logistics, Rear Admiral Bakhtiar Mohsin would be in-charge of all construction/repair facilities, logistics support units and depots of Pakistan Navy. Rear Admiral Bakhtiar Mohsin was commissioned in Pakistan Navy on 01 December 1973 in the operations branch. He served at various sea billets and qualified as Surface Warfare Officer (USA) in 1979. He had commanded various seagoing units including Destroyers Harbah, Taimur and Tariq and a missile boat. He has been commandant of Pakistan Naval Academy and Director General Maritime Security Agency. Among his various staff appointments, he has served as Director Inter Services Intelligence, Chief Staff Officer to Commander Pakistan Fleet and Flag Officer Sea Training. He is a graduate of Pakistan Naval Staff College and Naval Command College (USA). At the change of command ceremony, Rear Admiral Bakhtiar Mohsin was presented guard of honour on his arrival and introduced to the Commanding Officers of units under command. Thereafter, the outgoing Commander Logistics formally handed over the command to the incoming Commander Logistics by presenting traditional scroll. The ceremony was attended by a large number of senior naval officers, CPOs and sailors.
