ISLAMABAD - Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rashid has claimed that former President Asif Ali Zardari left the country on the advice of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
While talking to reporters here on Friday, Rashid said "Nawaz while rejecting the Iftar-dinner invitation of Zardari sent a clandestine message to him assuring him of continuing the reconciliation policy.”
He said that Nawaz advised his friend (Zardari) to leave the country immediately before he got into trouble.
Rashid said that the Army was tightening the noose around corrupt politicians and bureaucrats in Karachi, which has panicked them.
The APML chief demanded that the government formed a commission to investigate the allegations broadcasted by the BBC against the MQM.
He said that the Sharif brothers have been exposed after their claim of launching energy projects flopped.
