PESHAWAR – Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has registered 19490 families of Bara Tehsil, Khyber Agency in Jalozai Camp displaced due to ongoing security forces operation against the militants.
The new displacement of the people started after the security forces launched another military operation in Bara last week. According to a spokesman for the PDMA, the registration of 97451 individual IDPs has been completed. As many as 4641 individuals have expressed the desire to stay in Jalozai Camp while 50710 individuals preferred to stay with their relatives.
At present 1100 families from Bajaur Agency, 500 from Mohmand Agency and 19490 from Bara, Khyber Agency have been registered so far in Jalozai IDPs Camp.
Total population of IDPs at Jalozai Camp registration stands at 21090 families and 105623 individuals while more are still expected.
PDMA has increased the registration points and deputed 90 staff members for the registration purposes.
The PDMA allotted tents and distributed non-food items, dry food and hygiene kits among registered and verified IDPs families.
