BISP beneficiaries fight over Smart Cards

SADIQABAD - A skirmish took place among the Benzir Income Support Progrmme the beneficiaries and with the personnel at a Union Council office in a bid to get their Smart Cards in Labour Colony, Gulshn-e-Usman, Rahim Yar Khan.
In order get their respective cards by exceeding one another, the women attacked the office and started fighting and also exchanged hot words. However, the personnel called the local police who controlled the situation. On the occasion, Assistant Director Rehmatullah and site in-charge Muhammad Yaseen said that lists had been placed outside every union council for the acquisition of the cards. In addition, they added, the personnel were also informing the women about their turns but the women had been trying to exceed one another in the queue. Resultantly, they said, the women started fighting and also affected the office work. They observed that the process to distribute the cards to the women whose names had been included in the survey would continue for the next two to three months without any discrimination.
The assistant director reiterated that no card would be issued without schedule, asking the women to visit the office as per their turn mentioned in the lists placed outside every union council.
