ISLAMABAD - Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Justice (R) Javed Iqbal yesterday chaired a meeting and reviewed the performance of NAB-Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, especially convictions made under Section 10 and under Section 25(B) of NAO-1999 during the year 2018 to 2021.
The Chairman NAB appreciated the excellent performance of NAB-Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under the supervision of Brig (R) Farooq Naser Awan, DG NAB-Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He informed that since 2018 to 2020 Rs2674.1 million have been recovered under section 10, 25 (B) of NAO-1999.
The DG NAB-Khyber Pakhtunkhwa informed that during the year 2020, an amount of Rs. 2026 million has been recovered from 11 convicted persons under section 10 of NAO-1999.
He further informed that during the year 2019, an amount of Rs56.67 million has been recovered from 5 convicted persons under section 10 of NAO-1999. Similarly, in the year 2018, 16 persons were convicted by different Accountability Courts and an amount of Rs. 315.909 million has been recovered.
During the meeting, the DG NAB-Khyber Pakhtukhwa informed that during the year 2020, due to the efforts of NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 3 persons were convicted by different Accountability Courts and an amount of Rs. 1.0715 million has been recovered.
He also informed the meeting that during the year 2018, due to the efforts of NAB-Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 8 persons were convicted by different Accountability Courts under section 25(B) of NAO-1999 and an amount of Rs. 206.542 million has been recovered.
He also informed the meeting that during the year 2018-2020, due to the efforts of NAB-Khyber Pakhtunkhwa three persons were granted conditional pardon by different Accountability Courts under section 26 of NAO-1999 and an amount of Rs64.604 million has been recovered.
