Islamabad-Aviation Division has informed the National Assembly that the national flag carrier is fully compliant with Flight Safety Regulations as the airline has “No” outstanding audit findings on this subject from any regulator.
“Pakistan International Airline (PIA) has successfully undergone an intense on site IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) re-certification audit concluded at Karachi,” said a spokesman of Aviation Division on Friday. He added IOSA renewal is now valid till September 11, 2022.
Enhancement of Safety Management System (SMS) date integration through indigenous SMS dashboard had been designed to monitor safety trends, he added.
He says significant improvement in flight safety related issues had been ensured with the enhanced effectiveness of Flight Data Analysis (FDA) program (100 per cent monitoring). Crew Resource Management (CRM) was being revised and improved for reducing human factor that caused incidents. Subject matter experts’ services and assonance have been sought from Boeing and Airbus companies for assessment of SMS functions and Flight Data Monitoring (FDM) Program.
