ISLAMABAD - The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday directed the concerned authorities to start work on delimitations to ensure Local Government elections in Islamabad, Sindh and Balochistan.
In a statement, ECP said that holding elections in the country is the constitutional responsibility of ECP and the commission will take all necessary measures to fulfil its duty.
The ECP also asked the authorities to take measures for the upcoming general elections scheduled to be held in 2023.
Earlier in a meeting of ECP chaired by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja, the commission was briefed about the arrangements and measures taken for the LG elections scheduled to be held in 17 districts of KP on December 19 this year.
After the briefing, the CEC expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made for the LG elections in KP.
