Past in Perspective

“In the depth of winter, I finally learned that
within me there lay an invincible summer.”
–Albert Camus

Back in 1992, Pakistan won the ICC Cricket World Cup. The match was held in Melbourne and under the captaincy of Imran Khan. The team was able to defeat the English team by 22 runs as 87,000 spectators watched the phenomenal event unfold. It was considered to be one of the most exciting days for Pakistan as the entire country rejoiced the total score of 249. While we have not been able to secure another monumental win like this, we have proved ourselves on the field over and over again by securing the runner-up position in 1999, the semi-finals in 2011 and quarter-finals 2015.
