LAHORE - Ahsan Bhoon, candidate of Asma Jehangir Group for the top slot of Supreme Court Bar Association, highlighted the role of lawyers in politics of the country, saying that the national politics was all about the implementation of law and Constitution.
He stated those remarks during an address to a tea party organised in his honour at Javed Iqbal Auditorium of Lahore High Court (LHC) here on Tuesday. Bhoon stressed a need for a balance between Bar and Bench, and stating that lawyers were seen as a halt to every unconstitutional act. He also claimed to have a comprehensive plan for the welfare of lawyers, and adding that the lawyers would be given all the facilities they deserved. Bhoon also enumerated his efforts for the welfare of lawyers in the past and pledged to continue the tradition. He did not forget to mention the support extended by Asma Jehangir Group to the community of lawyers.
On the occasion, lawyers assured Bhoon of their full support in the upcoming bar elections and expressed their optimism for his success.
