RAWALPINDI    -   A Pakistani Army helicopter on Sunday night crashed during a flying mission near Khost area of Harnai in Balochistan that re­sulted into the martyrdom of all six personnel on board includ­ing two pilots. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations Khurram Shahzad (39) was resident of Attock, married and had a daughter, Major Mu­hammad Muneeb Afzal (30) was resident of Rawalpindi, married and bore two sons, Subedar Abdul Wahid (44) was resident of village Sabir Abad, Karak who was married and had four children includ­ing three sons and a daughter, Sepoy Muhammad Imran (27) was resident of Makhdoompur, Khanewal, married and had two daughters and a son, Naik Jalil (Crew) was 30 years old and resident of village Bhut­ta, Lohara, Tehsil Kharian, Dis­trict Gujrat, married and had two sons. Sepoy Shoaib (35) was resident of village Khatar­phatti Post Office Syeeda Teh­sil Jhand, District Attock, was also married and had a son.


The funeral prayers for the martyrs of Harnai Helicopter Crash were offered on Mon­day at the Quetta Garrison Balochistan. The Inter Ser­vices Public Relations (ISPR) said said that the Corps Com­mander Balochistan, Senior Military and Civil officials at­tended the funeral. Jasd-e-Khaki (bodies/coffins) of the Shuhada (martyrs) were be­ing dispatched to their native towns where they would be buried with full military hon­our, it added. Namaz-e-Janaza of martyrs of helicopter crash during flying mission at Har­nai was offered at Quetta Gar­rison Balochistan on Monday. 

According to ISPR, Corps Commander Balochistan, Se­nior Military and Civil officials attended the funeral. Jasd-e-Khaki of the Shuhada being despatched to their native town where they will be buried with full military honour. President Arif Alvi has expressed grief and sorrow over the helicopter crash in Harnai.

In a statement today, he prayed for higher ranks for the personnel martyred in the in­cident. He also commiserat­ed with the bereaved families. Prime Minister Shehbaz Shar­if has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the martyrdom of six personnel of Pakistan Army in a helicopter crash.

In a tweet today, he commis­erated with the bereaved fami­lies saying the entire Pakistani nation share their grief. The Prime Minister said the armed forces have rendered unparal­leled and unforgetable sacri­fices for the security and de­fense of the country. He said the nation is proud of its mar­tyrs.

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Au­rangzeb in a statement ex­pressed grief and sorrow over the martyrdom of personnel of Pakistan Army and said the entire nation salutes the great sacrifices of its martyrs.

Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has also expressed grief and sorrow over the martyrdom of Pakistan Ar­my’s personnel in a helicopter crash in Harnai.

In a statement today, he said those rendering sacrifices for the security of the homeland are benefactors of the nation.

Chief Minister of Baloch­istan Mir Abdul Quddus Bizen­jo expressing sorrow over the crash of a helicopter said the entire nation pays rich tribute to those who sacrificed their lives during performing du­ties.

The Chief Minister prayed for departed souls and expressed sympathy with bereaved fam­ilies. A terrorist was killed by the security forces in general area of Azam Warsak in Trib­al District of South Waziristan.

According to the ISPR, terror­ists fired at a military post in general area Azam Warsak but our troops initiated a prompt response and effectively en­gaged the terrorists’ location. Weapon and ammunition were also recovered from the killed terrorist. The killed terrorist remained actively involved in terrorist activities against se­curity forces and killing of in­nocent citizens.

However, during intense ex­change of fire, Naik Rasheed, resident of Tank, and Sepoy Rasool Badshah, resident of Lower Dir, having fought gal­lantly, embraced Shahadat.

The unknown armed assail­ants opened fire on the house of PTI Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) Sardar Aghaz Ikramullah Khan Gandapur, here, on Monday night, as a re­sult the constable on duty was killed on Monday after sus­taining serious injuries. 

A police spokesman said that unidentified persons had opened fire at the house of PTI MPA from constituency PK-99, Kulachi Sardar Aghaz Ikramul­lah Khan Gandapur. 

As a result, police constable Saif-ur-Rahman who was per­forming his duty at the gate of the house sustained fatal injuries. The injured police constable was rushed to the nearby hospital where he suc­cumbed to his injuries.

As soon as the incident was reported, the police and secu­rity forces rushed to the site and cordoned off the area.

Meanwhile, MPA Sardar Aghaz Ikramullah Khan Gan­dapur was not at home.

According to the police spokesman, the attack was carried out by two unknown armed motorcyclists.

It worth mentioning here that the house was the ances­tral house of the MPA as his fa­ther, former provincial minis­ter, Shaheed Sardar Ikramullah Khan Gandapur was martyred in a suicide attack targeting his car, few days before the 25 July General Elections. 

While MPA’s uncle, former provincial minister Shaheed Sardar Israr Ullah Khan Gan­dapur was martyred in a sui­cide attack targeting the same house where the current inci­dent took place.
