Punjab govt imposes stricter lockdown in all districts

| Lockdown will remain effective till May 17

LAHORE - Punjab government has imposed stricter lockdown from 6:00 pm till Sehr in week days besides declaring weekends as closed days with immediate effect in all districts.
According to a notification issued by Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department (P&SHD) on Tuesday, the lockdown will remain effective till May 17, 2021 ensuring closure of all commercial activities, establishments and areas by 6 PM on weekdays and complete closure on weekends across the province.
All commercial activities, establishments and areas shall be closed by 6 PM on weekdays from Monday to Friday and shall remain completely closed on weekends i.e. Saturday & Sunday (Friday & Saturday in 30 notified districts). 
Exemption is, however, granted to essential services i.e. petrol pumps, medical stores, vaccination centres, poultry and vegetable shops.
Whereas indoor wedding functions and indoor/outdoor dining in restaurants is banned throughout the province, the outdoor marriage functions shall remain banned and shrines/mazaars closed in 20 districts with 8% or above positivity rate including Lahore, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Rawalpindi, Rahim Yar Khan, Gujranwala, Multan, Bahawalpur, Bhakkar, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Dera Ghazi Khan, Jhang, Okara, Khanewal, Mandi Bahauddin, Narowal, Sialkot, Sahiwal and Vehari.
All types of marriage halls, community centres, marquees and event halls shall remain closed, while only takeaway/home delivery shall be allowed at restaurants throughout the province.
The amusement parks throughout the province shall remain closed, however, walking/jogging tracks shall remain open subject to strict adherence to COVID19 SOPs. 
All gyms and cinemas/theatres shall remain closed, while all citizens shall use face covering in public places.
There shall be complete ban on sports, festivals, cultural, social events and all types of indoor and outdoor gatherings throughout the province.
All public/private offices and establishments throughout the province shall operate from 9 am to 2 pm and follow the policy of work from home for 50% of their staff.
The intercity public transport shall operate at 50% of capacity. The rail service shall operate at 70% of capacity. All types of inter provincial public transport shall remain closed for two days (Saturday & Sunday) except goods/freight, medical and other emergency services.
The district administration and police shall work in close liaison to ensure strict implementation of this order, which shall come into force immediately within territorial limits of Punjab till May 17, 2021.
