Islamabad-Police have arrested 8 outlaws including a vehicle lifter and a drug peddler from different areas of the city and recovered a stolen vehicle, 120g of hashish and six pistols with ammunition, a police spokesman said on Wednesday.

Following the orders of IGP Muhammad Ahsan Younas, SSP (Operations) Faisal Kamran directed all the zonal officers to accelerate their efforts to curb the crime in the city. Police team Lohi Bher led by SHO Kamal Khan arrested an accused namely Saud son of Faiz Muhammad and recovered a stolen vehicle. The accused has been sent to jail on judicial remand. A case FIR was registered at PS Lohi Bher.

PS Golra arrested a drug peddler namely Muhammad Ahmed and recovered 120g of hashish from his possession. PS Tarnol arrested two accused namely Akhtar and Niaz Muhammad and recovered two 30 bore pistols with ammunition. PS Sihala arrested an accused namely Atta Ullah Khan during snap-checking and recovered one 30 bore pistol with ammunition. PS Koral arrested an accused namely Ahsan and recovered 30 bore pistol. PS Industrial Area arrested two accused namely Abdul Razzak and Yaseen and recovered two 30 bore pistols from their possession. Cases against all the nominated accused have been registered and further investigations are underway.

The IGP appreciated the performance of the police and ordered them to further intensify the crackdown. “Safety and security of the citizens is our foremost priority and no laxity will be tolerated in this regard,” he added.
