ISLAMABAD (APP) - Consequent upon having been found guilty of misconduct, the Chief Election Commissioner, after conducting regular inquiry, has imposed the following major/minor penalties upon Ms Nasreen Pervaiz, Joint Secretary in the Election Commission Secretariat, Islamabad, with effect from Aug 25. (a) Compulsory retirement (Major Penalty) against charge of serious misconduct of using intemperate language against senior officers of ECP. (b) Withholding of promotion for a period of one year (Minor Penalty) in two separate charges i-e failure to recommend methodology to remove discrepancies from the Electoral Rolls and misuse of powers in making appointments and promotions while posted as Provincial Election Commissioner, Balochistan. In another case, Ms Nasreen Pervaiz while posted at Karachi quarrelled with the then Information Minister, Sindh, Miss Shazia Marri. Miss Shazia Marri made a complaint to the Chief Election Commissioner. Ms Nasreen also used dirty and filthy language in a compliant made to the Chief Minister, Sindh, against Ms Shazia Marri. In this regard, formal inquiry was conducted and Miss Nasreen Pervaiz having been found guilty of grass misconduct has been awarded the major penalty of compulsory retirement.
