UNITED NATIONS - A shipment containing a reported $2 million of cocaine was intercepted last week at the UN HQs in New York, authorities said Thursday. Around 16kg of the drug was intercepted by security personnel at the building's mail processing center. The cocaine was stuffed inside a batch of hollowed out books and hidden inside two mailbags stamped with bogus UN logos. The world body insisted Thursday that none of its staff were implicated. The UN under-secretary-general for safety and security, told reporters here that the drugs were found on Jan 16 in two white dirty cotton bags with UN emblems printed on them.
