PSL 2022: Peshawar Zalmi beat Quetta Gladiators in nail-biting thriller

Peshawar Zalmi beat Quetta Gladiators by five wickets in the second match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) edition 7 at the National Stadium in Karachi.

Coming to bat first, Quetta's opener Openers William Smeed and Ahsan Ali had punished Peshawar Zalmi and helped Quetta Gladiators put up a massive 190/4 score on the board.

Will Smeed made 97 off 62 balls, with the help of 11 fours and four sixes, while Ahsan Ali smashed 73 off 46 balls with the help of eight fours and three sixes.

The powerplay was sensational for the Gladiators as they managed to amass 62 runs — Ahsan Ali (28 runs off 16 balls) and Will Smeed (31 runs off 20 balls).

Chasing the target, Peshawar openers were not up to the mark and lose their wickets earlier. Cadmore made 22 runs and Haider made 19 runs. Captain Shoaib Malik shined the brightest with Hussain Talat who hammered 52 runs with the help of 5 fours and 2 maximums. Malik took the team to triumph with his experienced batting. Malik put 48 runs not out on the scoreboard.

For Quetta, Nawaz bagged 3 wickets.
