KARACHI - Two including a child died and seven others wounded in an apparent gas cylinder explosion incident in Karachi’s Liaqatabad area in the wee hours of Thursday. The roof on the top floor of a five-story building fell down in a gas cylinder blast which also knocked down part of a building whose debris fell on the ground in Liaquatabad’s block 9. As a result, a six-year-old, Abdul Hadi and 30-year-old youth, Asif Ali, suffered severe injuries and died on the spot.
While injured were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The police and rescue teams reached to clear the wreckage.
The police sources said that incident took place when a gas cylinder burst while cooking was underway in the kitchen.
