Islamabad-As many as four Afghan citizens were arrested from New Islamabad International Airport by the officials of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Saturday. They were trying to travel to Europe on fake documents, informed sources.
The detained Afghan nationals have been identified as Musharraf, Shahzeb, Aqeel Ahmed and Ashraf Ali, against whom separate cases were registered, they said.
According to sources, Federal Investigation Agency Immigration Department officials, held four Afghan nationals who wanted to travel to Europe on forged residency permits. However, during the immigration process, it emerged that they had fake documents and were offloaded immediately, they said.
Later, the FIA arrested the Afghan nationals and transferred them to the anti-human trafficking cell to investigate the case further, sources said.
Sources disclosed that the accused Afghan nationals had managed to obtain fake CNICs and passports. One of four accused namely Ashraf Ali had already been placed on blacklist on charges of applying for passport on forged documents
FIA, following directions of Director Islamabad Zone Waqar Ahmed Chohan, has accelerated operations against human traffickers and travel agents involved in the business of fake visa on the pretext of arranging jobs and consultation across Punjab as well in the capital. FIA Director Islamabad Zone Waqar Ahmed Chohan has also issued directions to subordinates to arrest the agents involved in issuing fake documents to the Afghan nationals.
