Karachi - Pakistan Navy fleet’s frontline combat units displayed an impressive show of firepower in North Arabian Sea on Saturday. Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Mohammad Asif Sandila witnessed the live weapons firing by Pakistan Navy fleet units. The mega event was a major activity undertaken to validate the lethality, precision and efficacy of Pakistan Navy’s weapon systems.
The firepower included firing of Torpedo from Agosta 90-B class submarine and anti-ship guided missiles from fast attack missile craft. “Alhamdulillah, all the weapons fired successfully hit the targets with pin-point accuracy, thus re-asserting the offensive punch of Pakistan Navy fleet,” said chief of the naval staff expressing his complete satisfaction on the combat readiness of Pakistan Navy fleet units. He lauded the remarkable display of professionalism. The naval chief, while reiterating the need to remain ever ready to respond to any challenge confronted by the country, appreciated the diligence, true sense of loyalty towards profession and the commitment of officers and men of Pakistan Navy for the protection of Pakistan’s maritime frontiers.
“The successful live firing is reflective of fleet’s high state of readiness, professionalism and efficacy of the modern weapon systems operated onboard PN platforms,” he said.
“It also reaffirms credibility of deterrence at sea and reassures PN commitment to safeguard our maritime borders.” Before the conduct of weapons firing, the entire area was cleared of all merchant ships and fishing craft through extensive range clearance operations, while the commercial air traffic had also been cautioned to remain clear.
