Strategy devised to utilise development funds, says Minister minister

QUETTA - Senior Minister for Finance, Haji Noor Muhammad Dumar, has said, “Funds are being released by Finance Department for executing those development projects against which authorisation has  been issued  by Planning and Development Department, Government of Balochistan”. 

These views were expressed by him while addressing a press conference at Committee Room of Finance Department, Balochistan Civil Secretariat, Quetta  on Tuesday.  Terming the stoppage of funds as baseless propaganda of the opponents, he said that Finance Department had devised a comprehensive strategy to utilise the development fund.

He added that out of 3800 development schemes, no single project had so far been dropped, adding that funds for all old and ongoing development projects were being released. He said that during the last  two months period, detail of development funds released to different departments for executing development projects were as follows;- Rs. 68.7 million and Rs. 507.194 million had been released to Balochistan Development Authority, Rs. 39.02 million and 250.448 million to Board of Revenue, Balochistan, Rs. 1327.633 million, Rs. 237.448 million and Rs. 6368.833 million for Communication and Works Department, Rs. 67.270 million and Rs. 13.3 million for Energy Department, Rs. 596.143 million, Rs. 1099.637 and Rs. 1274.356 million to Health Department, Rs. 210.622 million and Rs. 57.0 million to the higher education, Rs. 100.4 million and Rs. 1427.816 million to the Home and Tribal Affairs Department, Rs. 505.276 million and 505.398 million to the Irrigation Department, Rs. 446. 649 million and Rs. 40.40 million to Local Government, Rs. 2.00 million and Rs. 18.7 million to the Planning and Development Department, Rs. 925.11 million and Rs. 119 million to Public Health Engineering Department, Rs. 8043 million and Rs. 632 million to Science and Information Technology Department, Rs. 221 million, Rs. 262.74 million and 28 million to Secondary Education Department, Rs. 350 million to Gwadar Development Authority, Rs. 40 million to Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), Rs. 1320 million to the Public Health Engineering Department, Rs. 306.187 million to Services and General Administration Department and Rs. 25 million to Urban Planning and Development Department.

In reply to a question about Rekodiq project, he said that it was for the first time that representative assembly of 12 million people had been given in-camera briefing about Rekodiq.

On the occasion, Secretary, Finance Department, Abdul Rehman Buzdar, Special Secretary, Finance Department, Muhammad Afzal Khosti, Section Officer, Yahya Panezai, Section Officer, Finance Department and Private Secretary to Minister for Finance, Arbab Jamil Ahmed Kasi and others were also present.
