Six outlaws ‘out’ in separate shootouts

Six outlaws including one in-custody were killed in separate shootouts occurred in different areas over the past 48 hours.
Inn Kasur, an in-custody outlaw was killed when his accomplice ambushed a police team here the other night.
DPO Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi said that the Sheikham Police arrested an accused Hafeez alias Hafeeza with illegal weapons. He said that the accused had been involved in more than 15 cases of heinous crimes like robbery, dacoity-cum-murder and illegal weapons in Kasur and Lahore districts. The accused during interrogation informed the police about the presence of his gang members near Havali Manjar Wali. The police escorted the accused to the pointed place for the arrest of his gang members. In the meanwhile, accomplices of Haeeza, holed up in the area started firing on the police due to which their own accomplice got injured. The police retaliated the fire but the attackers fled away. The injured was rushed to hospital but he succumbed to his wounds. The DPO said that Hafeez got killed by the firing of his own accomplices and the police have started search for the arrest of the fleeing accused.
In Multan, two robbers were killed in an exchange of fire with police near Southern Bypass early Sunday morning.
The police said that the outlaws were fleeing after looting cash from a person near Mehmood Kot. All of sudden they came across the police. At which the accused opened fire on the cops which they retaliated. As a result both the culprits identified as Naveed and Arif were killed. The police said that the deceased dacoits had been involved in the killing of a security guard in Naqshband Colony during a robbery couple of days ago.
They were also wanted in other cases of heinous crimes.
The police have registered a case and started investigation. In Sahiwal, three robbers were killed in a shootout erupted after they ambushed a police team to get their in-custody accomplice released here the other day.
The police said that two robbers managed to escape from the scene while an ASI and a constable injured in the crossfire that took place near Chak 99/9L. The police said that the Chichawatni Saddr Police had arrested a criminal Azmat Shani, ringleader of a gang involved in robbery and murders from Chak 109/7R. The Kasuwal Police were escorting the outlaw to police station after producing him in a court. Near 99/12L, the police vehicle was ambushed by four accomplices of Shani and got him free from the police. The accused holed up in nearby bushes. In the meanwhile, teams of the Shah Kot Kasuwal and Chichawatni Saddr police also rushed to the scene and a shootout erupted which lasted for some time. Resultantly, two robbers identified as Husnain and Sajjad Ahmed, residents of Chak 22/14L and Azmat Shani died while ASI Khalid and a constable sustained gunshot injuries. The injured cops and dead bodies were shifted to DHQ Hospital Sahiwal while the police started further investigation.
