At least 10 persons including a woman, girl and boy were killed and eight other suffered multiple injuries in incidents of enmity, violence and mishaps over the past 24 hours. According to details, in Faisalabad, three persons were killed when their rivals attacked them while being asleep in the wee of Tuesday.

According to rescue sources, the incident took place in Tehsil Jaranwala where members of a group attacked their rivals when they were sound asleep, killing them on the spot.

The assailants fled from the scene after committing the crime. The police told that the incident was the result of old enmity.

The bodies were shifted to a THQ Hospital for medico-legal formalities.

In Hafizabad, a villager was killed on the spot while his daughter sustained critical injuries when a recklessly driven van hit the bike they were travelling on here near Rasulpur Tarar.

According to police source, Noor Muhammad along with his daughter Kouser Bibi, resident of Takht Hazara was on the way to his village when they reached near Rasulpur Tarar on Pindi Bhattian-Hafizabad Road, a speeding van hit the bike as a result Noor Muhammad died instantly while his daughter injured seriously and was shifted to the hospital.

The police have registered a case against the van driver who managed to escape.

Meanwhile, Mian Ahmad Ali Imam Masjid of Chhani Chorera who received serious burns and injuries when an explosion occurred in the one room mosque due to gas leakage died in the hospital.

In Kotli, three members of a family including a woman were killed and another injured when roof of their house caved in here on Monday.

Police said that roof of dilapidated house located in Kajlani area of district Kotli in AJK collapsed with a bang.

Resultantly three persons including a woman, her son and daughter died under the rubble while the house owner sustained serious wounds.

The relatives and local people dug out the bodies and injured from under the debris and shifted them to hospital.

Similarly in Sheikhupura, two people were killed while another sustained serious injuries over a land dispute in village Kotly Baryal, some 70 km away from here in the limits of Narang Mandi Police.

According to details, two rival Ijaz and Nawaz groups had been locked in enmity over a piece of land for the last several years. In the meantime Ijaz group in a bid to take possession of the disputed land started ploughing it with a tractor. On the other hand, members of rival Nawaz group along with accomplices reached the site and attempted to stop. However, the situation turned ugly as both the group started firing on each other. As a result Ijaz and Nawaz died on the spot while one Rashid of Nawaz group suffered critical injuries and shifted to hospital in precarious condition. The Narang Police have started investigation.

Meanwhile, in Rajanpur, five persons were injured when a passenger van collided head-on with a tractor-trolley here on Tuesday. Police said that the accident took place near Kotla Naseer area of Rajanpur where a speeding van collided with a tractor-trolley coming from the opposite direction. The injured were shifted to local hospital.
