Call to devise anti-dengue strategy

LAHORE - Advisor to Punjab Chief Minister on Health Kh Salman Rafiq has urged health managers and entomologists to devise a consolidated strategy and start surveillance and larvaeciding before the start of dengue season.
Addressing the concluding session of workshop for Deputy District Officers Health (DDOH) and entomologists regarding dengue control at District Health Development Centre (DHDC) on Tuesday, he urged the participants of workshop to impart training to others and utilize professional abilities for the eradication of dengue. Dr Shahid Ikram, Dr Bashir Ahmed, Dr Yadullah and Dr Nadeem Zaka were also present.
Kh Salman Rafiq said that Chief Minister Punjab was committed to eliminate dengue in 2014 and the target could be achieved by controlling breeding of mosquito.
Dr Shahid Ikram informed that the centre has also arranged refresher training course for environmental inspector so that they could also participate efficiently in dengue control activities.
