Commissioner inspects sites for uplift projects

Bahawalpur Division Commissioner Capt (r) Asadullah Khan inspected dilapidated roads and Tehsil Headquarter Hospital during a surprise visit here the other night. MPA Qazi Adnan Farid and PML-N leader Qazi Burhan Farid were also present on the occasion.
The Commissioner took a round of proposed dual carriageway from Chowk Abbasia to Railway Station via Dera Nawab Sahib, Chowk Munir Shaheed to Petrol Pump Syed Jalal and Chowk Chacha Basti to Madina Masjid.
He also visited the Grain Market and proposed site for the construction of Ladies and Children Park.
The Commissioner also visited THQ Hospital and checked various facilities being provided to patients.
On the occasion, THQ Hospital Dr Zafarullah Sial briefed him about the problems confronted by hospital management. THQ Hospital’s MS revealed that various posts of doctors, paramedics and nurses had been lying vacant since long.
He assured the MS to build a CCU unit and the posting of dental surgeon soon.
He expressed his happiness over the instaltion of biometric machine at the hospital to ensure staff attendance on daily basis. The Commissioner asked a volley of question about hospital ambulance and directed the MS to depute a trained dispenser to care serious patients during shifting to hospital.
Meanwhile, MPA Qazi Adnan Farid briefed the commissioner about his proposals for the establishment of IUB sub-campus and construction of the building for the VTI on vacant Irrigation Department land.
Talking to the newsmen, Qazi Adnan Farid told that the Commissioner’s visit to Ahmedpur East was part of his meeting with the Punjab Chief Minister Punjab in which he had requested the CM for the announcement of development package for Ahmedpur East. He said that the Commissioner would submit a report to the CM within a week.
