PPP Rahim Yar Khan district leadership has said that the visit of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to Sadiqabad disappointed the local people, adding that the PML-N always neglected the district especially Sadiqabad tehsil.

Talking to the media, PPP District President Javd Akbar Dhilloon and Secretary General Raees Muhammad Din said that the chief minister announced no developmental projects for Sadiqabad. However, they added, the PPP-led government carried out record developmental projects in Rahim Yar Khan. “Then prime minister Yousuf Raza Gillani launched various educational projects such as Khawaja Farid University, Agricultural University and Engineering University besides approving the establishment of a cadet college in Khanpur. Moreover, the government also approved funds for the project but the present government did not provided land for the cadet college thus the work could not be initiated on the project,” he said.

The PPP president said that not to speak of the launching of new projects by the chief minister during his visit, even funds were not being provided for the already launched projects thereby delaying the completion of these projects. He said that the PML-N government was violating the rights of South Punjab people and eschewing the region pertaining to uplift schemes.

Addressing prize distribution ceremony at the conclusion of the second Nishan-e-Haider Kabbadi Tournament arranged by Pakistan Army at Sadiqabad Jinnah Municipal Stadium, the Punjab chief minister had thanked the people of Rahim Yar Khan for voting the PML-N into power in the May 11 general elections. He pledged huge funds to complete various development projects in the district. As the teams of Pak Army and Pakistan Air Force performed excellently, the CM said that Pakistani soldiers not only protecting national borders but also remarkably taking part in sports activities.

The Punjab chief minister had announced that a university and a cadet college will be set up in Rahim Yar Khan, and work on university would soon start. He said that the project of the establishment of the cadet college would be completed in one and a half years. He said that people of South Punjab and Rahim Yar Khan expressed full confidence in Pakistan Muslim League-N leadership in general elections and it would come upto their expectations.
