PDA retrieves 60 kanals of land from illegal occupants

Peshawar   -  The Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) in a major operation against encroachments cleared 60 kanals of land on Warsak Road from illegal occupants on Thursday.  

About 49 illegal marble factories, workshops and installations were erected set up on this state land for the last 25 years. For this purpose, PDA also used heavy machinery and demolished illegal factories and buildings. The cleared land will now be used for construction of intersection of the missing link of Ring Road till RMT and Hayatabad.  

Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has already directed for early completion of this missing link of Ring Road. DG PDA Zafar Ali Shah reviewed the operation on Thursday afternoon and appreciated the performance of the PDA staff. 

He clarified that the provincial government, especially the Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Akbar Ayub khan had issued clear instructions in this regard and a zero-tolerance policy had been adopted on this important issue.  

Similarly, he said that Peshawar Development Authority had been asked by the provincial government to widen all major highways of the city from encroachments while the completion of the missing link of Ring Road till Hayatabad was top priority of PDA while this goal would be achieved in the earliest at all costs.
